The FAMAB Verband Direkte Wirtschaftskommunikation e.V. is a network of professionals engaged in the tradeshow and marketing event business. The FAMAB has established itself as an association for stategically positioned agencies and enterprises as well as service providers specializing in the realization of related projects. are organized in the Forum Messe und Ausstellung (Tradeshow and Exhibits Forum). Other organizations are the FDA – Forum Design und Architektur (Design and Architecture Forum), the FME – Forum Marketing-Eventagenturen (Marketing Event Agency Forum) and the LECA – Leading Event-Caterer Association.
The Association, which was established in 1963, has evolved into a consultant in high demand in all matters related to live communications. It is strongly engaged in the lobbying for and the creation of industry-specific professional profiles and continued education options. It supports companies in finding optimum partners for tradeshow participations as well as for the emotional promotion of brands and trademarks. As a member of the AUMA – Ausstellungs- und Messeausschuss der deutschen Wirtschaft (Exhibition and Tradeshow Commission of German Businesses) and a sponsoring member of the BDA – Bundesvereinigung deutscher Arbeitgeberverbände (Federal Association of German Employer Organizations), both headquartered in Berlin, the Association maintains close contacts with the boards that drive political policies.
On the international level, the FAMAB interacts with the European government decision-makers via various commissions. The Association is a founding member of the IFES – International Federation of Exhibition Services, which comprises 10 associations and 19 exhibition and event companies worldwide (www.ifesnet.com).
FAMAB members utilize the competitive edge they have in terms of information to provide their customers with competent and current information. They are industry professionals and are inducted as members based on purely qualitative criteria. To become members, businesses must have a track record of at least three years of successful market experience, of projects of a specific complexity and size and must provide at least two member references.
The FAMAB has been bestowing its ADAM award for excellent tradeshow displays upon members since 2001. The award assesses the architecture, design, as well as the successful communication of the marketing and corporate goals of tradeshow presentations. ADAM has a partner called EVA (this German acronym actually translates into EVE), the event award.
All submissions are presented at the ADAM and EVA award celebration. Related documentation is made available to the public. Comprehensive PR and public relations work benefit all nominated companies, most of all the award winners, i.e. everyone from tradeshow design company to partners to customers.
